4375 Green Corridor with Black Cat
There is a widespread idea that painting serves to escape reality to find relief. The relief I seek follows the opposite path instead: a straight descent into the depths of what is dark and unresolved. Remaining at that bottom means beginning to sift through the matter of shadow, separating it into ever smaller and more defined details. The act of dividing each fragment equates to bringing light to it, to measuring its exact scope. Trying to know what frightens remains the only effective weapon to reduce it to its real dimension. Power operates precisely to suppress this impulse, demanding passive minds that accept the proposed narrative and never ask questions. The dominant structure selects docile individuals devoid of analytical curiosity, because every true deepening dismantles control. In this operation, the artistic process acts as a magical tool, a probe that tries to extract clarity where previously only noise existed.
