Many had lost their lives, many others their future. And then something unexpected happened. Doctors could not find a scientific explanation, but that year, anomalous births began to be recorded in every corner of the planet: fetuses of enormous dimensions, inexplicably larger than normal. It soon became clear that these were not rare exceptions, but a global mutation affecting every new birth. Even more disconcerting was their biological progression. Growth defied every physical law: bones and muscles stretched at a dizzying pace, accelerating months into weeks. In a very short time, those infants reached a colossal stature, a proportion of Gulliverian inspiration that shattered the world's fragile balance. Having become uncontrollable and physically devastating by their very oversized presence, they began to move en masse, a blind and unstoppable march that reduced to dust the structures and everything that sought to stop them.
