4232 Educated to Slop
The three pigs are not free beings; they are the end products of an engineering of consent. Their propensity is not a defect, but a function. The system—the great absentee framed within the black void—desperately needs to lower the cultural level of the masses to guarantee obedience. A trough full of "slop" is the perfect control mechanism: it sates immediate appetite, annuls the necessity of thought, and creates a biochemical dependency. It is the reduction of the individual to a passive consumer of low-level inputs, a farm animal trading its dignity for the guarantee of a pre-digested meal.
But the system, in its hubris, commits a fatal error of calculation. It believes that a people rendered ignorant is a predictable people. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those who possess a strong cultural superstructure are bound by logical patterns, consequences, and rules of engagement; they are domesticated by reasoning. Those who do not know, however, have no barriers. They reason by pure instinct, by spinal cord. They are an accumulation of primordial fears—because fear feeds on non-knowledge—which power manipulates with refined cruelty to direct the masses wherever it suits. But manipulation is not infallible. Those who do not know, misunderstand. Ignorance is a double-edged sword that cannot be controlled indefinitely.
In an unexpected moment, animal instinct breaks every pattern, tramples the fences, and bites. The monster created to serve the system transforms, through misunderstanding or pure panic, into the monster that devours its own creator. Power is not defeated by a conscious revolution, but collapses under the weight of its own bio-political errors, torn apart by the monstrosity it has cultivated. The diamonds crushed in the mud are but the remains of misunderstood values, shards of a civilization that failed to digest itself. The forces generating these causalities act now, yet they stem from interminable chains on both sides: a silent alliance between those who offer shortcuts and those who agree to take them. Both seek the most comfortable solution, the one requiring the least time and the least courage. The fall is, at last, total and perfect.
